In 2016, Father God gave me a vision and the assignment to bring together Christian Therapists who are spiritually minded to create a community where we can learn and better serve our brothers and sisters in Christ and, grow in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, develop authentic relationships with each other and to connect clients who are looking for a Christian Therapists through the CTN directory.
In September 2016, we created a Facebook group for Christian Therapists. In September 2018, we created a Facebook group for the Body of Christ who were looking for mental health resources for the church. Both groups grew and in November 2018, we launched the CTN Directory for clients who were looking for a Christian Therapist.
In January 2021, I woke up noticed that CTN did not look like the vision I saw. We had 330 Christian Therapists from around the world but I did not know them. We had failed to create a community with therapists who could develop authentic and meaningful relationships. In 2021, out of frustration, much prayer and surrendering, we archived the Body of Christ Facebook group and shut down the CTN Directory.
When Father God gives you a vision and task to accomplish, you cannot forget about it and say “next”. No, it does not go away and thankfully nor does He. I'm reminded of Isaiah 55:11 that the word of the Lord does not return to Him void (unfruitful) but it will accomplish what pleases Him. Sometimes as children of God, we forget God's ways and thoughts are different and higher than ours. When He gives a vision and task, He is the one that is working in us and through us to bring it to pass for His glory.
So here we are in 2022, launching the new Christian Therapist Network, a new community with clarity and purpose with the Lord working in us and through us. A new community for “such a time as this”. There has never been a time in my lifetime that Christian Therapists needed a sense of community and place to belong than right now.
These past two years have been difficult for people including therapists, working to take care of the mental health needs of the citizens in their communities and navigating the new normal while making time for God, family, self-care and life balance.
My hope and prayer is that the Christian Therapist Network will be an oasis for you. A place where you are refreshed, restored and renewed in your inward and outward man. A place where you can truly feel like you belong, able to share your faith, ask questions, learn without being attacked and receive constructive biblical, ethical and professional feedback in a safe manner. A community where you are accepted, celebrated and validated as a person and a member of the Body of Christ and CTN. A place where you can grow spiritually, personally and professionally all for the glory of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
God Bless!
